ODC Positioning

The O.D.C benefits from a privileged position in the civil society. It actively participates to several councils and national committees within which it represents the consumer and defends its interests in the frame of the consultation:

» National Commerce Council;
» Competition Council;
» National women and family Council;
» Economic and social Council;
» High Committee of human rights and fundamental liberties;
» National Council of danger analysis and control of critical points;
» High Council of development;
» National Council of medicine;
» Tunisian Commission of Codex Alimentarius;
» National Accreditation Council;
» National Council of Disease Insurance;
» National Council of the Legal Measurement Science;
» National Statistics Council;
» National Commission of Health Cities;
» Board of Directors of University Hospital Centres;

This representation is recently enlarged by a representation in to Boards of Directors of two public companies: “Tunisie Télécom” and “Office National de la Poste”. Similarly, adapting to the essentials the liberation of the Tunisian economy, the O.D.C choose to follow a consensus way based on the installation of a partnership with the National Organisations and the different economic intervening parties. In an international field the O.D.C, which has been affiliated since 1997 to the Consumer’s International, became in 2004 a full membership of this Organisation. Therefore, and because of this new status, the O.D.C is in a position to have an active role within this international instance. In a bilateral manner, the O.D.C is working to lay cooperation links with the consumer organisations mainly at Maghrebian, African and European levels.
